Class Cancelled All Week

According to www.sdsu.edu, class is cancelled through Saturday.

Monday 11 AM class looked at 12.1 #10,20,28,34 and 11.2 #10, 18, and 22 as examples. I highly recommend getting the CH 11 homework done this week so that you can jump into CH 12 when we get back. Feel free to email me with any hw questions.

Campus Closure

As of 1 PM Monday 10-22-07, campus is closed for the day (and lecture is cancelled). Check the website for status on Tuesday etc.

If you missed the 11 AM lecture try to get notes from a neighbor or see me.

Exam 1 Grades & Keys, HW Grades

Hi Everyone,
HW and exam 1 grades are posted on blackboard, along with answer keys. Please check your scores and let me know if something does not match your records asap.

Going over the exam with the solution key is highly recommended! If you have questions, drop by tutoring or office hours and I'd be happy to go over any questions that come up.

Exam 1 Grades are up on Blackboard. Overall, you guys did a good job! The distribution is skewed to the left, so the median is a better indication of where your score fell amongst everyone else. You'll get your exams back tommorrow (Monday).

FAQ: Wiley, Office Hours & Tutoring, Cheat Sheets

Some questions that have been addressed in class multiple times and are still being asked...

1. "Wiley says I got this problem wrong because I didn't use an * to multiply. Can you give me my point back?"

No. Like I stressed many many times in class, it is your responsibility to email me before your 3rd attempt and I will be happy to help you out. After the 3rd try, the score is final. The importance of using an asterisk has been reiterated several times as well.

2. When/Where are Office Hours & Tutoring?

New Site Format & Annoucements

Hey Math 120-ers,
Due to browser viewing issues, I switched to a blog format, so please update your bookmarks.

The exam is next Weds Oct 10th from 7-8:30 PM in HH 130.

The hw due on that day will be CH 1,2,5,&10. Any problems on the CH10 homework not yet covered in class will be covered in lecture on Friday (ie: local maximum stuff).
